Connect a hub, router, or network switch to your Dell™ DMPU and select PowerEdge Digital KVM Switch and add remote access to the device. The Dell True Serial SIP by Avocent provides true serial (non-emulated) connectivity for non-server devices (like hubs, routers, switches, etc.) that are typically accessed via telnet or ssh. Like all Dell SIPs, it converts the keyboard, monitor, and mouse signals from the device and drives them through a single CAT5 cable, eliminating the typical KVM cable management headaches. The True Serial SIP draws its power from a USB source and has a ‘Keep Alive’ capability that is designed to keep your device working properly with or without connectivity to the KVM switch.
